Two Ali Hazelwood Novella Reviews

Under One Roof releases on Kindle on May 3, 2022. It is currently already available on Amazon’s Audible Platform.

Mara receives news that she has inherited a house in Washington, D.C. which is perfect because she is about to start a new job at the EPA and needs a place to live. Unfortunately, there is a small problem. She has only inherited half of it. Liam also owns half of it which isn’t great news for Mara because they clash right away. He wants to buy her out. She isn’t letting go of the house that means so much to her as it came to her via one relative that actually meant the world to her. But Liam isn’t backing down either. Soon Mara is blasting Disney lyrics and Liam is making omelets at 1:00AM. Will they figure out what the real problem is before it’s too late?

Under One Roof is another compelling romance from Ali Hazelwood. I admit, I’m a bit of a fangirl for her books. She has a writing style that I find very appealing. Mara is a fun protagonist who suffers from the same short-sightedness when it comes to love as most of Ali Hazelwood’s protagonists. Clearly from their first meeting, Liam and Mara have the hots for each other. Their story starts from when Liam makes his move and then shows flashbacks from their first meeting to how they end up as friends. I liked how Mara and Liam supported each other in their jobs especially as neither is fully happy with what they are doing for their careers so far.

Under One Roof has some sexy bits too! It’s a fast-paced novella! I didn’t listen to it so I can’t talk about the quality of narration but from just a reading point of view, it’s a fun and sexy story.

Stuck With You releases June 7 on Kindle. It is currently available on the Amazon Audible platform.

Do you enjoy romances where the main characters are stuck in an elevator together? Well then you are in for a treat because Ali Hazelwood does justice to this well-known romance trope.

Sadie is stuck with Erik in an elevator which is bad, bad, bad news. They had one great night together until Sadie learned how Erik went behind her back for a job and stole a client she was trying to woo.

Erik has different memories of that night however and he is worried about their night for a different reason. With Sadie stuck in the elevator with him, he is determined to get to the bottom of their falling out. But that is easier said than done because Sadie is determined to ignore Erik and their past as much as possible.

What I liked most about this story is seeing Sadie and Erik work through their past together and get to the true bottom of what went wrong. Both are coming at it from different viewpoints, so readers get to learn a little bit more about both characters as they analyze what went wrong. This is my personal favorite of the two novellas so far. I just really enjoyed the close contact in the elevator and how they had such different memories of what tore them apart. I won’t give too much away but, Erik in particular is just wonderful. It was easy to see why Sadie fell for him so quickly.

Both of these novellas are a lot of fun! STEM is involved through the careers of both women though it isn’t quite as strong of an element as in Ali Hazelwood’s full-length story. Still, these novellas are a great price and feature strong romances. Worth reading!

Thank you to Berkley for ARCs of these stories.
