About Treat Yourself

My name is Sarah. I formerly blogged at YA Librarian Tales but found that my original purpose for that site no longer fits my needs. I want to be able to blog about books, but not necessarily just about YA books. Similarly, I do not plan on blogging about library experiences.

I am a youth librarian in Minnesota. I love to read, watch TV, spend time with my pets (2 cats, 1 dog), bake, and spend more money than I should. Hello, Target!

As a reader, I love romance books. Some of my favorite writers include Lisa Kleypas, Julie James, Elle Kennedy, Nalini Singh, and Erin McCarthy. I read primarily erotic romance but I passionately enjoy historical romance and contemporary romance too. I am oddly enough primarily a Kindle reader now. I read most of my books on my phone (Samsung Galaxy 5) or my Kindle paperwhite.

I also really like YA books. Jenny Han and Morgan Matson are probably my two favorite YA writers at the moment. That being said, I also adore picture books and beginning reader books. Basically I love many books!

I am an active member of YALSA. I am currently serving on the 2016 William C. Morris YA debut award. I am also an active ALSC member and I am serving on the Quicklists Consulting Committee.

The title of the blog is adapted from one of my favorite TV shows, Parks and Recreation, and the season 4, episode 4 episode called “Pawnee Rangers”. In that episode, Tom and Donna have a special “Treat Yo Self” day where they do exactly that by purchasing luxury goods and pampering themselves. In this case, I hope you can treat yourself with a fun book!

I’m not a YA reader, but some of your favourite authors are mine too. I can’t wait to see what books catch your eye. 🙂
