Review: Sneaking Around with the Player by Rebecca Jenshak

Sneaking Around with the Player by Rebecca Jenshak is a fun winter read! Beau and Stella meet of all places on an airplane. Stella is trying to avoid her ex and starts talking with Beau. One thing leads to another and the two have exchanged phone numbers. They are both athletes in college and don’t plan on ever seeing each other again. After all, they are attending schools far away from each other. But somehow their airplane connection proves stronger than either one realizes. They continue texting and facetiming and soon they have the chance to see each other again.

Too bad there are some obstacles in their path, particularly Stella’s brother who happens to be a sports rival to Beau.

The cover attracted me to this story. I love all the pink and winter of it all. Fortunately, the book ended up being quite cute too. It’s novella length so the author works hard to get just enough emotional connection into the story without bogging it down with long plotlines that don’t have time to develop.

I found the “sneaking around” aspect quite sexy after first but much like Stella, I was ready for these two to bring their relationship out into the open. Beau has fallen hard for Stella but he doesn’t want to come between her and her brother. But Stella isn’t going to wilt away from the chance to fall in love. She gives it her all even when she doesn’t expect the relationship to play out the way it does.

Sneaking Around with the Player is a cozy winter romance. It’s fun and sweet, just what I want in my current reading life!
